netopix im shocked that you could say such dumb things, Didnt you READ! its the content network not search. Rob keep up the good work and dont let people like that drag you down. People this is 100% Ture
u should you might make some money. misspelling are some of the best converting key words. Say somthing positive, it does wonders
Hey Robb, could you direct me to the page or fill me in on how you did your keyword research? I'm currently "dead in the water" trying to think of keywords to target on a offer im planning to promote. your assistant will be greatly appreciated!
The beauty of the content network is you don't need a vast array of keywords. Here's what you do: 1) choose the most competitive keywords 2) make each of those keywords its own adgroup 3) fill up each of the above adgroups with up to 49 variations of the original competitive keyword 4) set a high bid to get the campaign started, then adjust downward 5) track, track, track--with the Adwords tracking pixel you can track not only how well each adgroup is converting, but also how well each referring website is converting--buh-bye, click fraud (of course, you have to get the affiliate website to put your tracking pixel on its thank-you page, but it can be done).
another quick question... are your keywords in each adgroup "broad" match, "phrase" match or "exact" match? thanks in advance
I just can't grasp a concept of a landing page, i mean if you want to know where the visitors are coming from can't you just see that in the site statics which are provided by most hosting companies, can you please explain. Also is it easy to create a landing page if you are a not a programmer.
A true "landing page" is a page with a the call to action you're trying to make expressed clearly. This means no links, and just the product benefits listed. Does it take a programmer to take a landing page? Well if you know HTML and can insert CJ html they give you, you should be good to go.
As far as I know, for the CONTENT network, those options shouldn't matter. I select broad just to be sure. Also, keep in mind that on these campaigns you should turn Google search and the search network off (i.e., unclick the little box that opts you into Google search and the search network, and just leave the content network box checked). Also, with the content network you should know it pays a lot to a be a little more creative with your ads, use a strong call to action, etc. With the content network it's less valuable just to have your keyword 3 times in the ad (though if you can, that helps with getting it shown). You need something in the ad to make people want to click, the headline/title being the most important part.
Great job! But can you keep those ratio in constant? What was the results after a day or a week? A follow up could help more! Sathees Navaratnam
Has there been any follow-ups to this thread? I would like to know how this strategy is still panning out.
long story short, google slap me and my bids went to $10. MSN and Yahoo stop converting as well, even though bids were under $5. I think the sub-prime mortgage market in general went to the dogs in September 07. At least for me. However, the CJ stats for lendingtree don't reflect the negative impact I saw in my campaigns. So maybe i'm the only one. Still, there are a ton of "lessons learned" from me and suggestions from several other members in this thread that are really good.
Nice work rob (especially taking the time to show us screenshots) I am guessing you turned off the content network?
Actually, I've turned off all campaigns. Content network was the cash cow for almost 4 months. Yahoo and MSN also had good numbers on content network until september. Then it stopped converting from some reason.
Very excellent information. Thank you so much for sharing. What kind of venture are you in now? Also, how were you able to track which keywords were converting? I signed up for Never Blue Ads and am looking to promote some offers there, but I first want to make sure that I can track which keywords are converting. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
