Sedoparking.com ~ how does that work?

    How does sedoparking.com work?

I understand it to be somewhere that a person can park a domain and earn some income?

Can anyone tell me any more about it and most importantly, is it worth it?

Well i nver used them before so i cant really tell . Sounds fair to me though with what i have read so far. If you like to earn just some income with a parked domain you can use google's parked domain service as well.

That's correct, you get PPC income for parking your domains with them. All that is required is modifying your nameservers to Sedo's parking nameservers.

Ive used them once previously without a problem. They paid on time and the earnings were reasonable. I would suggest if you have the time develop the domain and whack adsense on the site, that way Sedo or other domain parking services dont get a chunk of the PPC revenue.

    Easy enough.

Any rough figures to get an idea of whether it's worth it or not?

    Agreed.

I am also concerned that redirecting the domain will result in it being burned as far as future development goes.

Suprisingly the earnings were pretty good actually. I could make a good comparison as I had other sites in the same industry (just didnt have time to develop that particular traffic domain) and the Sedo earnings per click werent that much less compared to my adsense clicks.

If you do try it out though, just make sure you reach the 25 Euro minimum payout before pulling out :)

Google's parking program is for owners of very large domain portfolios. Not many people have domains that get 750,000 pageviews a month.

    Other popular domain parking companies:

    www.fabulous.com
    www.domainsponsor.com
    www.goldkey.com

    Good luck

Apparently with Fabulous you need a pretty big portfolio too right?

What would you say is the best domain parking service?

I thought I would do just that, so I've signed up with a domain I haven't had time or energy to develop to see how it goes.

With Fabulous you need a minimum of 50 names. I can't say which is best because different names perform better with different parking programs. Probably the easiest one to get started with of those is DomainSponsor.com and they perform "ok" on most general types of traffic.

From what I heard and read in different forum, you will be lucky to recover your domain registration fee from sedo in one year. If you have an extremely good domain name, may be you can get some money but they why not develop it?

How many domains did it need to earn that?

Not true. I met the minimum payout after one month with just one domain parked with Sedo.

Its a matter of having the time to develop it. If you havent got the time it takes very little effort to just park it with one of these services and earn decent PPC income with some of your traffic domains.

    Hi mcfox,

If your domain is just sitting there and not contributing in anyway, than I suggest you should go ahead and do the parking. Sedo is fine though do not expect alot of revenue and its not even half way close to adsense. I am saying this as I myself have more than 200 domains parked on sedo.

    Goodluck

    Thanks.

I've parked a couple of really good generic .co.uk domain names to see how they go.

    200? Wow.
