Hi Guys, i was searching for a good online niche then i tried to find a good domain name fo it i found a domain with $300 US and they say that it has 15,200 Unique Visitor each month are they faking or something? is this data real? please help me to make the deal as the domain is for a niche that a click may be for more than a dollar so i guess if i have a 15000 unique visitors so in AVG 1500 will click the ads so i think that this gonna make me make at least $1000 from this domain only please help tell me is this data is real or they are just a fake or what? PS: i checked the domain name in alexa and i found that there is no ranking data for it and it is also not cached by google seach engine
15,200 Unique Visitor each month for a parked domain and $300 for that looks absolutely impossible. For a high paying niche than domain is worth more than 5 figures. Ask them to send you traffic logs.
Guys all i need is help!! thats what SEDO says: are they faking me or what? who puts this data (SEDO or the buyer)?
sedo puts that info, but it sounds like fake traffic to me. but who knows he couldve bought some traffic. --sc
Did you check Alexa Wayback history of domain? If Alexa has no data or traffic rank, and Google has no indexed pages for it, chances are the traffic is fake. Possibly someone using a popunder on a high traffic site to inflate hits or using a hitbot. Does not sound legit to me, but then again I don't know the domain to do the research. Good luck with your decision.
I was about to write the same thing. You beat me to that. He might have bought traffic to escalate the numbers to attract more buyers. Seriously the traffic numbers if it was natural, the domain is worth far far more than $300. That gives you a hint, there is something fishy. Sedo FAQ mentiones,
It is possible that the owner could have bought traffic and/or sent a bunch of bots to the domain. There are some international sites where you can buy traffic for less than .01 US penny a visitor.
The Domain Name is $300 US U know well that is not a small money to pay it is a big risk, do i have to trust SEDO?
Here is the Research: PageRank: Unranked Alexa Rank: Unranked Link Popularity: Incoming Google Links: 0 Incoming Yahoo Links: 0 Incoming MSN Links: 0 Incoming Alexa Links: 0 DMOZ Listed: No Archive.org Listed: No
Actualy for the domain your describing, $300 is very small price to pay, if this is an auction, than there is a chance that its legit, but the price will escalate before auction ends. if this is a simple sale, than its most likely fake. just my 2 cents
If they do deliver that amount of traffic then $300 is money well spent. But make sure that the seller is legit. Too many scams going on lately.
From what you provide so far it does not sound like the domain is any good. The domain does not have any links, or search engine traffic, and is not archived. -What is the extention of the domain? (.com, .net, .biz) usually only ".com" have type-in traffic. -What year is the domain registered? -Does the name seem like something many people would type-in their browser or remember? -Why has not anyone else already began bidding for the domain? If this domain is the real thing, it would be worth way more than $300, if the owner put the domain on sedo, then he must know its real value.
this is not an auction this is the buyer suggested price?!!! I dont know if this guy every heared about google adsense
Lolz!! If you ask me, I'm willing to put my money that the traffic is fake (bought).. Though, if you are concerned about no cached pages in google, then thats because google/yahoo dont keep tracks of parked domains.. So this is ok. Same goes for DMOZ listing
Unless it is a very typo of a popular domain or generic name/phrase, I doubt it receives 15,000 legit type in visitors a month. Look at the stats you posted. Do you believe that many people are simply typing the domain in their browser and hitting enter? If the domain was legit with that much type in traffic, it would easily sell for $xx,xxx. Looks like a pipe dream to me. Anyone can create simple popunders and banners that inflate traffic to parked domains.
