Section targeting?

Do any of you use section targeting with AdSense? If so, how has it benefited your CPC and/or relevancy?

I've just implemented it on my forum and I'm anxious to see what results it will yield.

I use it and it has worked well. I use it to ignore the menu, for example, which has a list of lots of different topics, and focus it on the content of the posts.

Sometimes I wish it were just a little stronger, more weighted, I guess you would say, as sometimes my url pulls the targeting off and the results are not as accurate.

I have a forum as well. I'll give it a go. It can't harm I am sure. But I am wondering what sort of content is needed in the section?

The most relevant content for your site is what you should target. In the case of a forum, it would be the posts.

I wrapped the targeting code around the message of the post. I am debating whether or not I should also wrap it around the forum descriptions.

I tried it a while back, and I couldn't get it to work.
One problem is that they don't tell you the MINIMUM of how much of the page you must target. 20%? 40%? 60%? Who knows.
I do know that they don't want you to just target a very small %, because then they think it is spam (trying to get high-priced ads on what would otherwise be a low-priced ad page).

Apparently, I didn't hit the number, because it didn't work. To "iffy" for me.

Plus, it takes a LOOOOONG time to kick in, like weeks, as I have been told.
So, be very patient, and target as much of the page as you can.
