About Section Targeting ... I know we could put it around relevant text on the page, but do we need to put the section tags around, lets say, a list of links, linked images etc, etc also ... These links/images can have keywords in anchor / alt text ... or will it be found anyway ?? How many section tags are *optimal/max* and what is minmum amount of text I should tag? I.e. If I have several sections of text with some html code between, do I use one tag around it all, or is it better to use several section tags, one for each text section to avoid the html code ????? Is it needed/good to use the *ignore* option around all php/html code that's no need for google to check/see ... The site I try to improve is http://www.hotlib.com/articles Many of my articles doesn't show targeted ads. I checked it with Google Preview Tool and same there, but when I contact Google Support they say ads are targeted ... ? hmm, I mean ... As an example, this page about Fishing For Salmon show ads about Hair Style, Loose Weight etc... ??? http://www.hotlib.com/articles/show.php?t=Fishing_For_Salmon Not sure what to do so now I want to try section targeting if it helps ...
You don't need to avoid the HTML-code. Google is quite capable of doing that itself. I'd go with simple: what is relevant to the type of ads you want to show - put that between these codes: What's not relevant, probably your menu, perhaps some text related to hair style, put that between these codes: Then comes the hard part: wait for google to start using that information to optimize ads for that page. This may take a while.
I personally find that using the code provided by kh7 does absolutely nothing, and I no longer use it. I find that Google can read the content of the pages without trouble.
