No, actually you have to put something to activate the nofollow (example: hyperlink anchor would by default be followed by search engine spider bots, however, if you don't want spider to follow and give credit to a specific link in that case the link would look like this hyperlink anchor). Hope this explains the difference between the dofollow and nofollow links.
Thanks man, very helpful.. pretty good that I don't need to do anything to my reciprocal links though
Please anyone tell me how to increase back link to my site www.eastindiaguide.in . Does that really increase my PR in Google search?
I would request you, apply it in your link building strategy and share your experience here if it works.
Well, it doesn't look spammy, if you include almost all the methods of link building, think of getting links from few links from social bookmarking few links from directory submission few links from articles few links from blogs few links from forums few links from .gov and .edu sites. if you use all these methods the links would be natural.....
Some interesting comments here. I have been link building for over 10 years now, and my strategy has changed in that time. Link velocity is important. I prefer now to focus on relevant, indexed sites with varying PR - mainly good quality blogs. I can show you many sites that I have ranked in the top 3 of Google for competitive search terms after 9 months, and I've only built 120 links in total. I hasten to add, no free directory links, spinning articles - this is old hat and in the main doesn't cut the mustard anymore for very competitive keywords. You also need to take into consideration how your competitors on the top 10 of Google are also link building - are they squeaky clean or using similar techniques. A good rule of thumb is to build 5-8 quality links per month per keyword - maximum. It's all you need. Trust me, I speak from a osition of experience, not advanced ignorance.
i'm not much of an expert yet but I can say that the key to success link building is diversity. you have to diversify, diversify and diversify. you shouldn't only build quality backlink because it will look unnatural. High PR backlink is good but not if you do not balance it with low PR backlink. so once again the key is diversity
