    Hi everyone, i am noob at this and have been reading about how google search engine works. So if you have lots of backlinks you get better ranking right?

    My question is, are those backlinks specific to the theme, subject to which is was linked at that time?

    Basically, I want to create a site which has random subjects. So if someone searches for "seeds" and I have lots of backlinks, but havent ever previously written about "seeds", will I apear high up in the results, If I post an article on seeds?

    eerrr, I hope that makes sense. ahaha
    let me know.
    thanks 4 da help!

    Basically not. But if you have a related article then probably yes. If the search term is not so competitive, your site might end up on the top spot.

    Good SERP is not about the quantity of links but the quality of every links. And when we say quality a links it means that the site is relevant to the site or it is known as known as quality sites.

    So quality links and relevancy of links really improved SERP.

    If you're going to create a site, better if you you categorized the topic of your article.

    The most important thing for Search engines is the content on your site. So if you want to rank high for seeds, the more information/articles on seeds then the higher your site will rank.

    If you have backlinks on high ranking sites about seeds, then again your site/pages will rank higher.

    In summary, random backlinks to pages on your site will not increase your SERP but it may increase your traffic.
