    Hey guys,

I was reading an ebook and came to know that when analyzing the competition on google for a particular keyword it is better to put it in quotes (" "). May I know the reason for this? Is it done by everyone? Why so?

It is? Perhaps that is done to highlight the keyword from the other keywords inputted. But I'm pretty sure quotes are just used to search for phrases.

Broad match is just that, BROAD! It is the polar opposite of niche. If you are going to be successful as an internet marketer, you need to be finding the narrowest batch of viewpoints possible.

Once you get into "exact phrase" match. These people theoretically have moved past the browsing phrase. They are hunting for something and by adding quotes, that means that they are looking to end that hunt or get the best "game" out of that hunt.

When money and/or time are involved, you want the most exact results when you are researching your site or the competition's site. I know this is one reason why there is a focus on "exact phrase" match.

without quotes = people searching for words within a phrase
within quotes = people searching for that exact phrase match

Using "" is a great way to target certain searches that people are using. If you use the google keyword tool, you can find your niche's keywords that have high search volume with low search results. This is great if you are writing articles and you want to rank them high in the search engine's. 1,000,000 results without quotes but 1,300 with quotes for a search is what your are looking for. This will have your articles, landing pages etc ranking high for that particular search result.

example: without quotes = stay at home jobs for moms - 34,700,000
with quotes = "stay at home jobs for moms"- 2,680

you can target your keywords and titles to articles around this search to get ranked higher in google!

    Good Luck

By putting quotes you mean it is exact match, for analyzing competition you will use both versions both quoted and unquoted.
