    Hi DP members,

I have been working as a freelance article writer/blogger/forum poster for over two years now. In this span of time, I have had the opportunity to cater to the writing needs of a number of clients from all around the world. My writings have also been published in an International, Indian origin culture magazine, an e mag based in New York and in a weekly based in New Delhi. Being an engineering student, my forte is technical writing, but I enjoy the subjects of finance, dating, SEO, Internet Marketing, health and fitness, yoga, ayurveda, energy, going green and the list goes on. I am paranoid about deadlines and give my best shot to all of my projects, big or small.
In these two years I also have had the opportunity to write for the official website of Friday the 13th, the recent flick starring Amanda Righetti and for the UK's telecom biggie Planet Numbers.
New to the DP world, I have written for a few DP members already and hence now am offering my services to all others who might be interested.

As far as the charges are concerned, I feel quality comes for a price. I usually charge 1$ for every 100 words and can handle approximately 8 to 10 articles a day. The work would be done on time and would be proof read well before submission.

Offering a discount for the first 2 clients though this thread:
Get your 500 words articles done for 3.5$(applicable only for the first order)

Hope to hear from you guys and build some long term relationships.

    Cheers
    Prachi

    Sample writing:
Barack Obama: A Beacon of Light

Barack Obama, the first colored President of the USA, a paradigm of a tolerant, quintessential inter-ethnic, inter-racial, inter-religious American has endeared himself to every carbon-based living form on planet earth. The vibrant and second-youngest ‘first family’ to occupy the White House since the Kennedys has evoked in one columnist a return to the heady days of Camelot. And after America’s Armageddon, that is his inheritance, Obama rides as young Lochinvar, his young shoulders bowed under a battered nation’s hopes and aspirations straining for deliverance out of the wilderness to the Promised Land.

At the dawn of time, way back in March 2007, the Los Angeles Times with astonishing perspicacity envisioned Obama as the mystical Magic Negro, the black embodiment of the knight in shining armor. Pursuant to the thought, volunteers and supporters from Los Angeles were his tireless sherpas on his arduous climb to the peak. And two years later, crowned by a beleaguered nation in the midst of battle, Barack Obama’s hour has come. He mouths the clarion call that rallies the nation, rousing them from the morass of despair, uniting its people and rekindling their hope with the stirring cry: ‘Yes we can!’

What is it about Barack Obama, a first-term senator and political rookie which has inspired the world and imbued it with confidence? He is articulate charismatic, self-effacing and humane, the hope of the downtrodden and marginalized and bows not to corporate America. Cocooned in a sterilized aura he fought an untainted campaign and maintained his decorum in the teeth of oft unbecoming opposition. The world views him as the captain on the bridge painstakingly turning round the behemoth of a floundering global economy, navigating it out of the storm of recession. The world looks expectantly to his continued leadership in the enduring war against terror and the brutal ideology of the Taliban. The Middle East awaits, with bated breath, his wisdom like that of Solomon to infuse a lasting peace. And all the while he faces these challenges with modest equanimity and confidence, alive to the plethora of insurmountable hurdles strewing in his path.

Is it then any surprise then that an expectant world is Barack Obama’s oyster?

Also, for others...here is another sample of my writing....
Get an Edge with Planet Numbers

Right, we’re in the midst of an economic downturn. Your small business is reeling. You’re up against the big boys, the multi-nationals with their sticky tentacles reaching every nook and cranny. They’re surviving; they have the resources; the reserves; and the banks batting for them. But there’s a darker side to it, spoken off only in whispers. They’re also sacking ruthlessly! Sacking you say? No, they call it redundancy, letting you go, giving you your papers, pink-slipping. Call it what you like, gild it as much as you wish, but it still boils down to no pay packet at the end of the week.

Why don’t you follow them and trim the fat? You can’t – you don’t have the heart to. In any case you run a lean, mean outfit. Your seven employees have been with you for ages, some as much as ten years ago. You know them all; you know their families. They trust you implicitly, they believe in you. Your product or service is as good if not better than the big boys. If only you had a level playing field!

This is where Plant Numbers, the great equalizer, steps in. What you need is exposure to play your opponents at the same game. What better than 350 accessible little offices in Britain? Your customers could be at the other end of the country but they’d be comforted to know you’re only a local call away. The proximity inspires them; knowing you’re right there, slap bang in their backyard. That will give you heaps of leverage and clout. That pretty much gets you an edge you badly need. But it’s also a pipedream; out of your reach. Or so you think.

Planet Numbers gives you a local office everywhere in Britain.

    What? How does that work?
Let’s say your little business is in Birmingham on a 0121 code but you’re trying to clinch a deal with a valued client in London. Not a problem – Planet Numbers gives you a 0207 number for your clients to call. The call is directed to you in Birmingham but they think they’re yakking with you across the Thames. So its win-win all the way: cheaper for your customer on a local call, and he thinks you’re big league with a local office. So when you place your modest little ad in the local paper, slam a local number on it.

So why not have 350 offices in the UK – or virtual offices – and who needs to know?
What’s this going to cost me, you ask? We at Planet Numbers are upfront and honest – we don’t have a monopoly in the service and we don’t have hidden costs. But … Planet Numbers is the cheapest by far. All it costs you is a one-time installation fee of £49 (if you buy online); an ongoing service charge of £10 per month and 3.5p per minute to receive calls. That’s it – not one penny more. For that you can change your destination number as often as you brush your teeth, at no extra cost at all. Now all this comes to you without additional equipment or phone lines. What happens is that all incoming ‘local’ calls are routed to your original number from which you make outgoing calls as well.

Want to go the whole hog? Planet Numbers will give you a ‘virtual receptionist’ together with a host of other exciting features to boost your business.
Want to know more? Want to climb the big league. What’s stopping you? Check out our website or call us at our toll free number …..

Nokia Claims Developing a Disease-detecting Handset

So far, 2009 hasn’t particularly been the year of amazing tech-savvy devices being introduced and very few attention-grabbing gadgets have been launched. However, things could get seriously shaken up with Nokia’s latest offering — a handset that can detect diseases of the human body, including mild cases of food poisoning to something as serious as lung cancer or diabetes.

When it comes to devices that are handy-to-carry and are capable of sensing what is wrong with the human metabolism or its functioning, there has been limited technological innovation. The closest that people have come to is detecting the level of alcohol in the blood — breath analyzers, as we call them or oral odor detectors. The most recent technology that combined using the convenience of a mobile handset and human body detectors was reported from Japan. They had launched a mobile phone that had a small breath analyzer installed in it. This novel idea was developed by NTT DoCoMo Inc and is being currently used by more than 15 transport companies.

The new disease-sending handset is currently under development at the UK-based research facility of Applied Nanodetectors (A.N.D.). On preview is a prototype, not very big, that can detect diseases just by examining the breath emitted by people. This first-of-its-kind Nokia mobile phone has an innovative chip embedded with sensors capable of identifying various gases including Nitric Oxide (NOx), CO2 and ammonia (NH3). It was initially seen as just an improved version of a standard breath analyzer but the chip being used is far more accomplished. It can quickly ascer tain the user's breath, tabulate the density of every gas and compare it with the composition of a healthy individual. If there are any grave variations, it quickly detects the most possible cause and the corresponding disease.

It is believed that the process of comparing and matching is at par with fingerprinting that is used in crime detection. An example: when someone is having an asthmatic attack, the nitric oxide levels tend to rise alarmingly in the lungs and this would be quickly traced through this device. Not only is this handset capable of detecting a disease, but it is being programmed to automatically inform its user or even the listed family doctor or next-of-kin to ensure that the discovery of a health problem isn't ignored!

It seems that the animal kingdom has better in-built sensibilities as compared to us and don’t need such gadgets. One such famous performer is Oscar, the Cat. He is still actively on ‘duty’ at a rehabilitation facility in Rhode Island. Somehow, he is very accurate at sensing someone’s death and20starts visiting that doomed person repeatedly and might even stick to the bedside as the ‘time’ to say goodbye comes near. On a more serious note, dogs have been found to diagnose cancer in human beings since 1989. Ongoing research suggests that they are equally adept at sensing other serious disorders of the body like liver degeneration besides cancer of the lung and breast.

Well, we can’t alter the constraints of the human DNA but hopefully, with this offering from Nokia, we would be able to carry something in our pockets that will ensure saving us against any impending ailment.
