Hello, I am new to CMS , i am searching for good CMS based on PHP, to be SEO friendly (if possible to have integrated mod_rewrite) , to be able to integrate a forum (if possible based on phpBB) and to be able to run a gigantic website with a lot of content over it. I know my question may be little stupid, but at the moment there are thousands CMS and i am a bid confused. King regards...
Hello, As you said your are new to CMS. You can try out Drupal CMS it is easy to configure. Joomla is also good but it not to easy to configure...
if you want a big site and be scalable you should go after the CMS systems with good frameworks such as: ezPublish Drupal Typo3 Joomla is to mickey mouse... so i think.. don't get me wrong i've built and own lots of Mambo/Joomla sites but these other CMS are more robust and better.
Go for Joomla and it's new integrated Forum (http://www.bestofjoomla.com/component/option,com_fireboard/Itemid,38/) Thanks.
drupal is great for SEO imho some good modules can assist you unfortunately the forum module is a little lacking but you can try different modules that might be of assistance.
There are many people on the net that say Joomla is the best by far. And you know what? It is the best one.
If youre interested, I've found ModX to be a worthy alternative to Joomla and Drupal. And by the way, SEO isnt just about url re-writing. Imho unique titles, meta tags play an even bigger part than sef urls.
Geeklog phpBB Bridge Plugin (integrates the phpBB database and the Geeklog database into one) PHP based - SEO friendly - mod_rewrite done through htaccess Very capable for large sites (Here's one with 3700+ articles http://www.panama-guide.com )
i allways prefer joomla for sites. joomla is a seo friendly cms . it has seo extesions category on its extensions site but i think you must choose opensef as seo component. it has a forum components on its extensions site and i think fireboard is the best forums solution for the joomla
