    hi
thanks for providing this great tool
and i hope i can get it to work
well, ive installed onto my webpage just to test it and i get 0 matches when i do a search
im pretty sure its indexed by google but perhaps i dont really know what that means

    i submitted my url
and i thought i read somewhere recently that 50 of my pages are indexed by google bu then im not sure

    its probably something simple

    my site is http://www.deadhippo.com/

on the search.php i first tried to enter www.deadhippo.com
    and now deadhippo.com

they both turn out 0 results

    Dear DH,
To find out for certain if your site has been indexed by Google is simple.
    1. On your own site, pick out a phrase that you are fairly certain will be unique to your site. For example, if your site were a shoe sales site, and it had the phrase "Florsheim Tan March Special, only $19.95", then obviously the chances of anyone else on the internet having that exact phrase would be pretty slim.
    2. Next, enter the search phrase you have selected between quotation marks in Google. Google will then search all of the sites it has indexed copies of onto its own memory files.
    3. Look through the Google search returns. If one of the returns links back to your site, then viola! Google has your page indexed. If not, then it's not indexed. That simple.
    4. If your page hasn't been indexed by Google yet, then I would suggest going to the website: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum3/4827.htm, or other similar places to learn more about how to get indexed.

      Cheers,

      Scott Perry

I checked the logs on the search server, and I don't see any request for any search on deadhippo.com today. Check that it's spelled right in your search.php file. If so, maybe your server isn't allowing external network connections or something.

What tool are we talking about here?

Also, scottshawts, apart from the already-mentioned fact that you answered a question that wasn't asked, and that not-yet-mentioned social faux-pas of referring the OP to another forum, and the also not-yet-mentioned point that the expression is "voila" (French for, literally, "see there" or "see that") rather than "viola", your reply doesn't provide the mnost direct or fastest way to do it with Google -- try site:www.yourdomain.com to list which pages have been indexed.

deadhippo, you go to www.google.com and in the search box type in the following:

    site:www.yoursite.com

No spaces -- substitute the actual URL for your website for "www.yoursite.com".

What this will do is show you all the pages from your website that are in the Google index.
