what is a good monthly search vollumer for a target niche with little competition? i am thinking about going into a specific niche that gets about 1000 searches a month for a few various names of this niche (thats 1000 for each name, so around 3-4k monthly searches, but obviously i will have yo optimize for one term as a primary and the others as secondary)
Why just 1,000? I'm sure that there are niches out there that get millions of searches like search engine typos.
yeah, but keep in mind the higher the search vollumer the higher the competition. i would rather be the #1, 2, 3 ranked on something that gets 4000 total searches a month vs being 10, 11, 12 (at BEST) on something that gets 50k searches....
looks like no interesting idea for me. 4000 searches a month is nothing. even if you get 1 cents per search you will get $40 a month. what's the deal?
If you are going to have ppa ads on your site and if you find good affiliate program, you could still earn some money. There is more then just ppc.
Yes, i will be doing an ebay site, i will have some adsense, but my main goal is to earn money from ebay signups...
for my niche the keywords bring in just a few hundred searches a month (based on overture), however them combined with keyword + word and word + keyword etc bring in around 8-10,000 referrals a month (combined)
Going long tail is certainly clever and noone says you need to target 1 keyword/keyphrase only. It's much easier to rank well for 1.000 keys with 4.000 searches each than for one key with 4.000.000 searches...and you depend less of just one ranking or site.
