In past and now I had many websites having somewhat good traffic from google but have never got any visitor sent from yahoo search engine to my sites, if it happened, it happened very very less times. What do you think what may be the reason?
google and yahoo have different ways of considering SERPS. For me, it has always been easier to get a good rank at yahoo than on google. If you have a good rank at google, ignore yahoo and move on
@campolar: I was interested in that extra traffic from yahoo, but yes you have a point I much move on with one thing and may be some day i will also have good traffic rank from yahoo. As any try to optimize for yahoo may harm ranking at Google.
Yahoo uses different algorithms to determine your ranking.. so in google you might be ranked higher than in yahoo.. yahoo also has far less traffic than google
Most probably this may be the reason for very less traffic from them. I have my homepage indexed them but inner pages does not seem to be indexed, may be their algos are not intelligent/powerful enough to regularly crawl and index sites.
In one of my site I am first time receiving the traffic from Bing also, it sounds good, although its just about 10-12% of all traffic sent by Google. But not a single visitor from Yahoo on same site. So I will say its turning out to be Google>>Bing>>yahoo. But obviously one site can't decide that all rank stuff.
I got traffic both yahoo and google. Some site google more traffic than yahoo. But some site not. They have the differnece algorithm.
This never happened to me, Google was always on top of other search engines in case of all my websites, which makes sense, considering the lots higher search traffic to Google search engine.
The ratio of search engine traffic for me - Google to Yahoo is about 100:1 Take a look at the difference of the search algorithms among Google, Yahoo and MSN. I must admit that I haven't paid much attention to optimize for Yahoo search.
