When you go to a classified ad website, and type something into the search... would you like it to search the title of the ad or the body of the ad? Why?
Both? I think the title would perhaps offer something more relevant in most cases, but like google, the content of the ad should be displayed as a less relevant search result.
Thats what I was also thinking. But the biggest site in my niche only searches the title and that got me to thinking. Thanks for the reply.
If it was me, I'd want it to search the title unless I ticked a box saying that I wanted the full text searched. Why? Because eBay works that way for auctions, so I'm used to scripts working that way. Plus from a coding point of view, just searching titles should be quicker and less resource heavy, so it should be quicker for your users. Trevor
