Search results plotted on google maps

    You can now view the 10 top results for any search term plotted on a google map.

    The map shows the location, IP address and distance from google HQ for all the sites.

    Please take a look at this and help give some publicity to the website by digging it or linking to it.

    Nice, will Digg it in a bit.

    But even when you search something else, it still says "Map of V7... Contest" and in the footer as well.

    is it supposed to work with all terms? I typed in a few other terms and the map never showed.

    It should work for everything (as long as the sites IP address can be resolved).

    Let me know what terms were you trying and I will test it.

    I did "gnomes" as its a word I check a lot. I did some others too, but dont remember those now.

    Found some sites I thought were US, but were actually located in Australia.

    This tool should help a bit in the contest :wink:

    Hmm, just tried gnomes and it worked OK.

    I suspect of the initial query to google's api server failed then the map would also fail.
