Search results open in a new window

I just noticed one new variable in G's search url - "newwindow"
When it's set to 1 anything you click on in the results opens in a new window

Kinda against G's big policy of user experience etc...

Here is a sample:

anyone noticed it before?

 

Um go to http://www.google.com/preferences and look at the last preference at the bottom.
