Ok, so I've been working on a site for 5 days, launched it, optimized it (a lot!) for a mid-range keyword for my niche and now it's listed on the 1st rage in rank #10 on google (canada and US) Does anyone have any advice? Should I try to optimize further, or should I not push my luck? My worst fear is having it drop off further.... The reason I might wait longer is because although i have bought many backlinks, they have yet to show up on any backlink checkers, so maybe my site will go up the rank when they show up? Thanks for the advice guys and gals.
Your keyword will be drop off, Google usually give you a higher ranking for new sites during the first weeks and then will put you somewhere else. If you have been reading other posts, you should know that one day you're on first page and next day you don't appear in the first 10 pages.
I would continue to do some seo and not wait. If the site is new (as someone mentioned) google will replace it's ranking, the first week will keep you N1 and than it will find the exact place where your site should be ranked. So, doing more seo, for at least another week or two, it won't hurt you, actually you would beat your work in time. Anyway, you should also check if those keywords are competitive or not, you could be just fine (if satisfied with your ranking) or try to climb higher.
you can continue to do seo but only be careful not to make your site less optimized then it used to be
it seems your on-page optimization is good. But.. Google tends to rank good for some time sites that get a lot of quality links fast, but then you will be thrown to so called sandbox if your phrase competition is big. Just keep adding back-links regulary and you should be back to your position in even higher position. Thats just my opinion
yes my new site is going around in my region google and still droping from the pages for competition keywords.try to see if you have a good position on google.com if you have a good position there it might stay in the first 3 pages after a time if you are not ranked in google.com in the first 5 pages expect that you will go way down....
thanks for the advice guys. From what i can tell there actually isn't that much competition. I hope it stays up there....
I would keep trying to get yourself #1. Also is it bringing you any traffic if it isn't I would switch words.
google gives a chance to the new sites. if you continue to become on first page, it's the success. your example is not a success
Vary your links and the anchor text. After you have buying links it is better to get links with pr=0, 1, 2 with several anchor text to get natural ranking.
