Hi everyone, I'm new here, I was just wondering about this new Google search adjustment, with "search plus your world" .... Does anyone think this might mean a sudden huge rise in spam on Facebook and Twitter and the like? After all, doesn't this mean there's more value in Google for stuff you can get to go viral on the social nets?
I don't know. It doesn't seem to be a particularly useful feature for people searching for informational sites. From what I understand, it brings up your usual set of results filtered through what amount to Google+ "status updates". It also seems to be a potential legal issue for Google and a privacy issue for Google+ users. All of the legal and social implications will have to shake out before we'll see a huge effect on search results, I think.
