Search Network query

Could someone please explain why, when I have priced my ppc ads so that they appear above a particular competitor in the Google search and the Google Network search sites (such as AOL, Ask etc.,) they appear well below that competitor in Ebay's sponsored links (which I assume must be a Google Network site as I do not use Google content network at all). Thanks.

You could be bidding $10 per keyword and someone else could be bidding $1 and be above you.

With google there are so many other factors that come into play, the biggest is account history. If you're competing with someone who has a stronger account history, you will have to offset that by making a rock solid campaign and bidding high to start. Otherwise, you will never overtake their position.
