I wish to run a separate keyword campaign on Google Search Network only, so that I can set separate priced bids to my ads in the main Google Search. But the system does not allow me to set a campaign to that option. According to this page we can choose any combination of networks: https://adwords.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=6276 How can I do this? Thanks --
You can do either Google only, or Google + Search Partners Network, but you can't do Search Partners alone (if you see, it's indented in the selection area, and probably makes mention of it).
What you could do is create a campaign, where your max CPC for your google search kawyords is very low - google will inactivate them - and you set the max CPC of your google network bids to something your comfortobale with for traffic.
You should be able to do this with no problem...as that is how I separate my campaigns. Just make sure you check search, uncheck content, and make sure you don't have search turned on for the same keywords in another campaign. If you have it turned on in another campaign for the same keyword, Google won't let you do it. Thanks Greg
That's interesting considering running only on the search partners network is not possible. Johu's answer is correct.
I suppose that what you could do would be to have two campaigns - one running on Google and the Network, another on Google only. If you bid more on the Google only campaign, then as long as your Quality Score remain about the same on both campaigns, your Google campaign will set the bids for the Google Search, and the 'Both' campaign would only run on the Search Network (since it would be outbid for Google Search by the other campaign). This would allow you to bid more for Google than the rest of the network, but not less... Never tried it, so I don't know if it'd work in practice, and as I say, it depends on the Quality Scores remaining similar...
