Who's attending SMX Advanced 2008? http://searchmarketingexpo.com/advanced/ It's in Seattle, WA on June 3-4th. Apparently, it's sponsored by Microsoft and Google. I'm debating whether I should go. I'm a teen internet marketer looking for networking opportunites.
i also like to attend but i am very busy at the moment got a very big project coming and i just cant afford to leave it.
Has anyone attended this conference before? My school's finals week is during the same week - I might have a hard time getting out of school.
I don't want to waste time on attending conferences, well just work hard on your projects, will be better than a conference. and if there is some thing new, DP members will announce over here.
well i wouldn't mind, but then again what are yahoo and google going to tell you seriously. I've noticed they do tend to throw you off a little bit
Yahoo and Google sometimes have good points though - designing content for users is a good thing - and it's not only about attending their workshops - going to conferences is also about networking with other web professionals, etc.
Exactly. Who said that there will be only google and microsoft speaking hours through that day. They are just main sponsors of that event. There will be lots of other companies trying to spread their brand and advertise their product. There is lots of ideas to get and this will be a great experience overall. You can see the trends and just to get your eyes opened and see what others are doing.
Has anyone gone to one of these events before, then? I'm thinking of only getting the "exhibits" pass - the free one.
Yeah, Bellingham isn't that far away. I got some cool stuff from SMX 2008 today: http://www.krazyness.net/2008/06/03/smx-advanced-lots-of-schwag/ I'm going to have a multi-part blog series about the things I learned at SMX 2008 today. ^_^
Thanks for the comment! ^_^ Post #2: http://www.krazyness.net/2008/06/04/smx-an-overview/ In this blog post, I gave a quick overview of SMX and the sessions that I attended. I will report on them tomorrow.
