I have a site that has 3 PR on homepage, and a little over a hundred pages all together. I have RSS on almost every page, and that keeps things fresh. Most of my pages, including my homepage, get freshly indexed everyday. In other words, when I go to google, and type in my domain name, the cache is freshly updated everyday. I added a new link, (a sitemap), with links to many new other pages I am creating. I added this link to my homepage, and many other pages of my site, a few days ago. Google has since re-indexed my site three times, and my new sitemap page is still not indexed. Why? In the past, for my other pages, (over a hundred), they all got indexed on their own, from the homepage. I didn't do anything. It's just a simple text link that I added. No javascript. Do I need to add a robot.txt file, or something like that? I know nothing about those things. I thought google, msn, and yahoo would just crawl through my site, and see the new links on their own. Since my homepage gets relooked at everyday. Please tell me what's wrong. I didn't know if I should post the link to my site or not, so I left that out. Thank you, Shane
It's ok to post the link, this is an open forum. I think you just have to be little patient. If it is possible you can get more links to the site map to speed it up a bit.
O.K. then, here's my site: www.incanaby.com If anyone wants to look at my site, and tell me things I'm doing wrong, that would be most appreciated. The new link, called "Site Map", is on the bottom, third from the right.
Your site map link is just fine. There is a place for site reviews though if you want reviews for your site.
No problem with that. I give you a good tip Get ten posts and then put the link to your sitemap in your signature, you will see it in Google in no time
Your site isn't the type I'd normally visit by I was able to index it all. I'd seriously have to question if pages such as http://www.incanaby.com/resources.php?c=30 http://www.incanaby.com/resources.php?c=46 are hurting your site. But that may just be my conservatism
Thanks for the pointer. I have two ways I'm gather links at this time. One is inputing them by hand, in this directory I created: http://www.incanaby.com/links/ The other, is a paid thing from powerlinks.com, that I inserted here: http://www.incanaby.com/resources.php I have seriousely been considering dropping that paid powerlinks thing. I also don't think it's helping. I used to have pr4 on my homepage, now I have pr3. Shane
Thanks for the awesome tip! I most certainly will do that. This forum is great. I posted this question in 3 other forums, hoping that someone would help me, and this is the only forum I've received any replies from. I will certainly be spending more time here. I have been using the tools located here: www.digitalpoint.com/tools/ and they have been a great help. Thanks, Shane

I have given a good rating to all of you who've helped me out here. And I'm checking out some other areas of this forum too. Thanks again. BTW, trippling my income doesn't sound too bad at all!
