    This is a hard question.

    They are updating their index all the time, but if you want to know how long it takes till your site is added to the index, here are a few factors :

    Backlinks pointing to your site (Quality and quantity)
    How often is content added to your site, is it done regulary

    It could happen in less than a day ! What i have noticed is that .com domains stand a better chance of getting listed faster and gets a better threatement

    No one know , they come and index you . for fast indexing you should submit your website on Google webmaster then ping your backlinks.

    The more backlinks you have going to your site the faster indexing happens. You can also use pingfarm to send a blast out to search engines notifying them of changes to your site.
