Search Engines don't spider signature links anymore?

    I understand that the SEs can't spider links in signatures anymore? :( Does anyone know anything about this or has anyone else heard this?

    Is this our humor for the day? It took less than three days for Google to index T0PS3O's signature when he added the link to the thread involving the phrase five SEO excuses.

    Of course sig links are effective, they help get sites indexed quickly if you're a frequent poster on forums like DP which get indexed quickly by Google

    Sig links are indexed. However they are highly devalued by the SE.

    Untill and unless forum admin make it available only for registered members :( lot of forums has been started this and some also instructed user to keep clean URL's only..

    Sitepoint originally allowed links in sigs, then they made them unviewable to guests (and spiders) and now you cant even have one. Im not sure about the situation at Namepros, I've found DP great for signature links though.

    I've heard that some forums allow signatures but use the no follow tag.

    Yes there was a webmaster forum I visited yesterday that ddn't allow links in the signature.
