As far as I know, you should never submit your website to a search engine. Search engines give more weightage to your website when it finds by itself. The technique I use to make search engine find my site (and give higher ranking): Google: Try to create a blog at blogger.com. Update it couple of time a day for couple of days. Google just seems to like updating blogs. Make sure to have a link to your website from the blog. Yahoo & MSN: Create a Rss feed at your website and add it to MyYahoo / MyMSN page. Moreover, you can put your link to one or more of your old sites. But the point is: Do not submit your website to Search Engines using any tools or the submit URLs.
No, just submit to the big ones. Many small search engines are aggreators from Google, Msn, Yahoo, etc. So just submit to the big ones and you'll be fine. I heard this rumour several times now but i can't understand why it is. Why would any search engine do that? They are only hurting themselves right? Didier
No you don't submit to the big ones, the big ones finds you through a link on a different site. All you need is a link to your website on a website that gets indexed by the SE's and they will find you like that.
Like i said, i doubth this statement is true. There are webmasters spreading this around but i never saw real proof of that. I once did this just to test the waters but i can't really say that my site ranked higher than any other i submitted using the normal submission form. It's just not logical. Why would google or any other SE do this?? Didier
