Hello, I'm a new webmaster and have found these forums to be a great resource.

One of the reccommendations I've found frequently on this site is that you should personally submit to websites to different search engines. I'm wondering if there is any comprehensive list of search engines I could look at and use to make sure I don't skip over any search engines. Also, where do search engines hide their website submission pages? I've been to several search engines and had no luck finding their submission pages.

There's no need to submit to search engines. They will locate your site through links on other sites.

Yep, I saw an experiment on these very boards (I think it was shoemoney that did it) where he placed a fresh domain in a link in his signature and in no time at all google came a-visiting.

So if for no other reason, get contributing to the forum and have links in your sig :)

I do not submit my site to any other SEs other than google, yahoo, msn.
Do not waste your bandwidth for some crappy SEs that nobody uses.
