    It's a way to promote the website and increase the popularity in the sense of to cache by the different different search engines in search engine submission.

    BTW: there are thousands of search engines, they will find you. Just build links.

    Not all, but the better ones certainly. However marketing in any environment costs money and those costs should be built into your business plan before you even start a project.

    I dont know why people submit their website in search engine, there are 1000 of different search engines. I think only follow Google, Yahoo and Bing...!

    Submitting your website/s to search engines is not really necessary since your website/s will be indexed over time. But it takes time for some websites to get indexed (in Yahoo it sometimes take more than 6 months) so webmasters submit their website/s to search engines to quicken the process.
