For some site I just social bookmark through onlywire and let the search engines and alexa find it themselves which only takes a few days. Regards Mark
I don't think it is a good idea to submit to search engines. I prefer the search engines to find my site on their own.
No, you do not need to submit your site. With a few backlinks, the search engines will find you. Search engine submission is a hold over from the 1990s and when search engines were more like directories. Back then you had to submit your site to the "search engine" - which really just searched the directory and not the actual web. Search engines today are designed to follow links and find new sites. There is NO need to submit your site to any search engines. Just build a few links and your site will be found.
@Badlands07 thanks for sharing a list of search engine i have also submitted my website in all search engine which you are mention in your give website url.....
Usually search engine submission is useless like said above because they will find you, if your having problems getting crawled and your already out of the google sandbox then I would go ahead submit to search engines but if your not out then wait a month or two before doing so because search engines dont crawl newly born sites.
As many have stated, there is very little traffic from smaller search engines so why waste your time. Well when I look at many of my sites analytics what I see is this - about 1-3% of my total traffic on any given month comes from smaller search engines that no one has heard of and those visits, amazingly enough provide more page views and spend more time on the site than most other engines. So, while the quantity of traffic may be minimal I see it this way (quick math formula): - 1 hour of total time for submission efforts - Receive 20-40 extra visits to my site each month from extra these efforts - Over the course of a year that equals 240 - 480 extra visits for my efforts - That does not take into account that this will continue year after year, so my initial investment of 1 hour can pay dividends for years without any additional effort That is not to mention that those 240-480 visitors actually engage better with the site. Just my 2 cents......
