Just think over for Google at the most, these days people wont submit site to search engine, the SE let you find on their way.

Forget about it. Search engine submission is pretty much worthless today. The only search engine that you might need to submit to are Google, Yahoo and MSN, and in most cases you don't even need to since they will pick up your site if you have your link from elsewhere. Just make sure to have links to your site and submit a sitemap as well.

ya... i agree with seo4china... most SEs don't send any traffic at all. Google, Yahoo and MSN are the only ones really worth bothering with. Google is the biggie.

Search engine submission gets you spam in your email. I tried it recently but set up a separate mailbox. That mailbox only gets spam. I did not see a boost in rank worth squat. It was merely a test to test a theory that it was bogus. And so far, I'd say I'm right on spot.

The only "search engine" I bother with submitting to is Alexa, and that's mainly to get them to grab a screenshot since so many sites link using them. Otherwise, as others have already said, there's no money to be made from providing submissions and it's a waste of time to do it for yourself - start getting links on sites/pages that have already been found on the search engines and the bots will find you.

It's directory submission you should look at, not search engine submission.

You are absolutely correct about the spam. For that reason, other than when submitting to very reputable, established directories, I always submit to directories using my Yahoo email, which I don't use for any other purposes. As far as submitting to search engines, don't bother. Just get a few good links to your site and the SEs will find it.
