Hi All Over a month ago I had my site redeveloped and rebranded. Previously the domain was www.atrec.com.au but it has been rebranded as www.racingjobs.com.au I also have a 301 redirect in place from the old domain to the new one. The problem I have got is that the information displayed on my website in a google search changes depending on the search term used. Please find examples below based on different search terms: "RacingJobs.com.au" - returns the correct information. Correct domain name, correct description etc. "RacingJobs" - returns the correct description, however returns the old domain. "Racing Jobs" - returns the old domain and instead of returning the correct website description, it just returns whatever text it can scrape off the site. Is there anything that I can do to ensure that the correct domain name and description is always displayed? Cheers Jake
Go into your google webmaster tools and remove the improper indexes. Also i'd bump up your SEO for that term for awhile. Google is greedy for information and is the king of whats most relevant but you've confused the monster. Do that and you'll be okay.
Over time the old information will be purged from Google. But you need to remember of the billions of pages indexed... it's not likely a new site will get much priority... especially one that might not be frequently crawled. All the data centers need to be purged and updated.
