Hi, We advertise online but don't sell online as we are a service company, and the majority (95%) of our customers enquire or make a booking via telephone call. I have set up inidividual sites/numbers for Adwords groups and ppc campaigns, but i would like to know which traffic from which search engine generates a better ratio of telephone calls, namely G, Y and Bing. So, i've looked at a script called Power Redirector on hotscripts, although i haven't looked at the coding of this script, it does allow for the redirection by referrer. What i was thinking of doing, was redirecting visitors from G to one site, Y to another and Bing to a third, and some other large business sites we advertise on all with differing telephone numbers which i can then track live with our phone stats. My main question before i proceed with installing this, is would google (or any search engine) penalise me for pushing traffic generated from organic listings to a site that is identical to the main site, but with a different telephone number? The telephone number is present on my site as an image on every page in the header, and text throughout other pages. Or can anyone else provide alternative suggestions on how best to do this? is it done via 301, they actually recommend u do redicrects in this fashion so, not likely if its done this way
It could affect your website search engine ranking, but in most cases it will take a while.. However, if you're just looking to do a test.. then install the software for a couple of days only.. check the status and get rid of it IMHO, Google and other SE's might index each URL separate than the others so your ranking might reduce due to such thing !
