Search engine ranking - script installation

Discussion in 'Keyword Tracker' started by RMiranda, Jul 7, 2005.

    Hi all.

    I'm novice in the scripts installation. Then I'm unable to install the script of search engine ranking. First I putted it on a page of the editor (Dreamweaver) on the head and after on the body. In both times I upload the page to the server via ftp. Did I do something wrong?

    Thanks,
    RMiranda

    All you have to do is paste it into an empty notepad file, change .txt to .php and upload it.

    You can't put anything else with the script (no HTML). If your server supports PHP, the best thing to do is just put it in a text file (with a .php extension) and upload it directly. Trying to do it with an HTML editor is bound to cause problems (since they like to add HTML, and there should be none).

    Thanks for yours supports. My server supports PHP. I did it according to yours instructions. The only thing that appears in the web page is a:1:{s:7:"results";s:4:"9999";} I'm failing in something. In addition, what must I do after to put the script in a web page to offer the search as a free service to my visitors?

    Does it say the URL is invalid when you add it to your preferences?

    Could it be you are confusing the Keyword Tracker script with the Search Engine script?

    What do you want to do? Track your keywords on Yahoo, MSN & Google via DP's back-end or provide a search box on your site that taps into Google's index?

    When you add the advanced usage script URL to your keyword tracker account preferences, does it say the URL is invalid?

    I'm searching for a script to put in other web site am constructing. Maybe I'm confusing. I have supposed the script was to find search engine positioning for a given key-word. Is it not the case?

    No. In the php page does not appear the box to put the key-word. Only ppears this: a:1:{s:7:"results";s:4:"9999";}

    You would need to be logged into your keyword tracker account in order to add keywords (see previous post).

    It seems I've done a great confusion. I am sorry. And thanks to both. Do I find here the script I'm searching for (search engines positioning to offer to visitors)?

    Nope... the keyword tracker is not offered as a product, you would need to use it on the digitalpoint.com site.

    Yeah it's not for your visitors, it's only for you. With a login with your password and username.

    You should use this script in page footer.
