Search Engine Ranking Jam

Have you ever been "stuck" in your position ranking in Google?

If so, how do you get out of the jam? I've been on page two for what seems
like forever now for the key phrase: blogging tips

    My site is http://www.videobloggingtips.com/

Anyway, I believe I am stuck for two simple reasons.

    Not enough consistent posts
Maybe Google ranks sites higher if they post more often. True or False?

    Relevancy
Sure I give out blogging tips, but until today and yesterday I
haven't been using the term "blogging tips" in any of my posts. Should I
use that term a little more often?

Any other suggestions? Maybe I just need to build more back links?

Have you ever been in a search engine jam before?

Just keep working at it and you will eventually improve your rank. It gets harder to improve your rank the higher up you get.

It isn't too hard to get to page 2. To get higher than that you are now competing with websites optimized specifically for the same keywords as you. You most likely just need more quality backlinks. Try checking where the pages above you got their backlinks. You might be able to copy some of those links. There are also many other link building strategies that you can find more info about on this forum and on Google.

You are right about consistency, but not for the reason you are thinking. Writing interesting content on you blog that others find useful will cause them to link to you.

In some cases you can juice the process by guest blogging for others. For example, if you ask a blogger if you can post a guest post on their blog (and you are a decent writer) you are doing them a favor by adding unique content to their website.

In return, the blog you are guesting on will typically link to you from the blogs CONTENT section of that post, which is a lot more valuable than a link from the blogroll or the comments section.

Also, because you are blogging about a topic that is relevant to your blog, the backlink from the guest blog is highly relevant to the content it is linking to on your blog.

It all comes back to content one way or another. Shoot me a PM if you are interested. I blog about business and marketing, and I would love a guest post about how businesses can use video blogging to increase their revenue in tough economic times.

    Step 2: Get more backlinks.

Step 3: shove more unique content on there, with a few tails.

Naturally, using the keywords you are targeting on your content pages is a must and even with many one way links, you still need telling Google how relevant your website is to the subject targeted.
