This is nonsense...don't believe just anyone!
Adsense has nothing to do with serps

I heard before that adsense could only affect the speed of indexing your new pages. If you have adsense on the page, and you get impressions/clicks, googlebot will visit the page to see what it's all about.
But that is just a rumour. I have tested that on ~4 fresh websites and haven't noticed a difference.

Go as per the Normal SEO guidelines.

You will get indexed on the top by your self,
Adsense doesn't work as you are thinking, forget it now.

As what I've experienced. If your site is new and has adsense, some directories won't accept your submission hence cutting off the chances of getting other backlinks. And that won't give you high rankings. :)

I agree that AdSense can hinder your rankings more than help them. A lot of people avoid linking to 'Made For AdSense' sites. So you might not get into some directories and others may decline link exchanges. Just concentrate on continually adding new content to your website and getting more links.

I've always been under the impression that adsense gets google to at least acknowledge your fresh site, and index it. But that it wouldn't help with rankings.

If you though about this logically you would expect adsense to help your serps as it is financially beneficial to Googles bottom line, whether it does or does not no one will be able to tell you 100% and if they did what makes you think you should believe them?
