I have a question about google. Do I have to submit my site to google or will they just find and index me without me having to? I don't want to miss next PR update.
In most cases, you don't need to submit your site to search engines - just provide a link from a well-crawled site (including a signature link from a forum like DigitalPoint) and the spiders will find you. On the other hand, it doesn't hurt to submit your site either and it only takes a few minutes. Go ahead and do it.
http://www.google.com/addurl/ But it won't do you much good. You really need to build links to your site. That's the only way to get google, or any other search engine to not only visit and index your site, but to rank for relevant keywords.
Partly correct. But it will at least register the URL with Google while he's trying to build incoming links. You can also use this link for Yahoo! - http://docs.yahoo.com/info/suggest/ I assume MSN Search has one too... I've never looked for it.
simply post your signature at DP, your site will be indexed. Well, i have put a live link here so your site will index soon: http://www.over-exposed.info
Thanks for all the help guy's it's appreciated I would give out rep but I am just new so the rep won't count as any points I will give you all rep once I become a real member
Yea I have to wait a week before I can but links in my sig. I thought that search engines don't look at sig? I thought that they only look at the content in the posts.
