Search Engine Optimization Vs. Link Development

I am constantly asking myself. Does SEO benefit my site the same as Link Development. I spent so much time tweaking all kind of things on my site, keyword here, keyword there. Can some one tell me, how important SEO of site vs. Link building.

What gives you more traffic? Boost, Rank higher. I know you probobly will say, both needs to be done! And i know that. But how important is it as compared to Link Development. I know for sure that if you just optimize your site, you won't get the same effect as if you would develop solid link building strategy.

    Thanks

SEO is certainly important in developing your site, and I believe that SEO is best done first, then followed up by link development

It is all just names . there is so much misinformation about the whole web marketing thng IMO.

A true SEM will look at, on page and off page, PPC, link building, optimisation of the site for conversion maximisation etc. Either do it all, or don't do any of it. If you are optimising your site without getting links, or getting links withut optimising your site, you are heading for disappointment either way!

On-site optimization should be done before off-site optimization which includes link development

optimisation means to devlop something to its optimium.

    quality inbound links
    quality content
    quality navigation
    quality file structure
    quality outbound links

not one or the other, optimum means that it is the best it can be.

Link Building is certainly a part of doing SEO. It is more effective though to have the links related to the site you are promoting. Even if you have millions or billions of links if it is not related, it is then useless.

It's not a case of either or, it's a matter of doing both well. An SEO can't afford to ignore any major part of the optimisation process, right through from the keyword research though to link building and article writing.

It is possible to get a site to rank without on-page SEO, buy why? Optimising a site is one of the easier and cheaper ways of promoting it.

There's no such thing as SEO vs. Link Development they go together you cant have SEO without Link Development, I can just tell you to concentrate on them both. SEO is the best marketing strategy there is.
