Search Engine Optimization - thinking outside the box

Search Engines are there for one purpose only - to make revenue. The creators wanted to provide something that others needed for free and then they sold top billing and advertisement space to huge conglomerates who can justify paying millions just for clicks to their sites. The need is a directory to find other websites on the web, and just like the phone book we get for free on the doorstep we take advantage of these search engine with a feeling of entitlement.

Once you understand that search engines are all about the money, then you can realize that your little business isn't going to get much out of that one link - no matter how much you "optomize" it. Big Business will still cut you out of the top listing for certain keywords. The only way you can work around this unfair system is to increase your online presence.

Suggestion: Every site you have your link or your business displayed on is another link referring to your site. It's the drop in the bucket method. Not everyone searches on the biggest search engines because, if you have noticed, they are bogged down by over 1 Trillion url's. So you need to spread your online presence around to local directories and specialty sites that offer free links so they can attract more customers. You need to find company communities with small finite search databases that have a mutual customer base.

For instance: Pink Parrot Fashion Consignments has a store in Grove, Oklahoma. This is a summer tourist destination. We suggested she add her links to Travel forums so that vacationers would know that there's a good discount store for trendy brand names and couture in the area.

What we do: If you google "green tekkie" you'll see we have over 19 links on the first three pages of search engine results. We have profiles on over 20 Social Networking accounts. We post to forums such as this with good advice and a mention of our company. Our Synergy Group Members are listed on our web pages so our 19+ links on Google become theirs as well. We also advertise each Member's company on 15 separate free ad sites, we promote their profile on 10 different social networks, we register their business contact information with 10 different business and specialty directories, we promote each Member's business and offers to all other Members via a weekly Newsletter, and more...

You can do all this yourself but it takes time because you can't use bots (captcha put a kibosh to that one). We offer to do all the hard work for a one-time Member Fee. Each Member adds a link to Green Tekkie, LLC (greentekkie.com) on their site as well. Now when one Synergy Member's site is crawled all Synergy Member's url's are found. This is how one can multiply their online presence. You are free to copy our success, but I think the small one time Membership Fee is worth it.
