There are alot of really useful SEO guides out there that are free! I read one on SEOmoz which is how I intially learned about SEO and the basics behind it. If you're getting into it as a career it may be worth paying for guides and advice but in terms of the basics there's a lot you can learn for free.

Is seo optimised content still important in this day and age? or can you get away with having just the keyword in the title/first paragraph and using tags to target keywords. There is so much stuff on the internet it's hard to keep up.
