Hi everyone. My name is Zach, and I have decided to document my attempt at optimizing my funny video site humorous.tv I feel like some background info would be in order: Site was started approximately 1 year ago. Achieved relative success through social bookmarking, none from search engines. Site was abandoned for the past 6 months, in the week has been remade, re-categorized. Site has had relative success recently. Alright that should suffice for now. My goal for this thread is to document at least 3 times a week how Humorous.tv is fairing in the search engines, and what I am doing to try to achieve my goals on the site. I will also share on this thread traffic statistics, and growth and or depression in traffic. Hopefully I will be able to share some tips of what is effective with video sites, and hopefully the readers of this thread will be able to give me some tips! Wish me luck!
Day 1: Today's Stats: 11 visitors is fine by me, but that bounce rate is killing me. Especially considering previous days were so much more productive, but nonetheless I am only concerned with SE traffic, and as of 12/3 the site received 6 visitors from 6 keywords. Those keywords were: 1. double tornado vs double rainbow kimmell 2. double tornadoes rainbow 3. humorous pictures - Yahoo 4. interview christina aguilera on chelsea lately video 5. staff sergeant salvatore late night 6. who has interviewed salvatore giunta Humorous Pictures was the only one from Yahoo. Having all this organic traffic bouncing is really bothering me. Any suggestions how to get this traffic to stay on the page longer and look around? I will be looking to improve from here!
