    Hi people,

for example, when you search for soundclick in google, the website on the first position has a link list below. Is this determined by sitemaps. how are these created/enabled for search engines?

    Thanks

This is called "sitelinks" i believe.

They are determined solely by Google's discretion - typically to "authority sites".

You do have some control over sitelinks in your Google Webmaster Tools account. Previously they let you specifically set which pages to show up for sitelinks, but now you can just block sitelinks that Google automatically chooses for you.

Google typically only gives sitelinks when a search term is very similar to a website/company name. If you gain enough authority for a certain term, you may still get sitelinks without the term being related to your company or website name.
