    Hello

Would someone have a list of commands that could be used on each of the 3 big search engines (google, msn, yahoo) that would help in finding all my listings, looking at backlinks, etc.

I've been using +site:domain name.com, but have also seen some use inurl:"domain name.com" - not really sure what the difference between the two is.

On Google you can type in...

    yourdomain.com

It will then bring up 1 entry and below that there will be a few options as follows...

    Show Google's cache of yourdomain.com
Find web pages that are similar to yourdomain.com
Find web pages that link to yourdomain.com
Find web pages from the site yourdomain.com
Find web pages that contain the term "yourdomain.com

I am not sure if that works on the other search engines though.

Try sign up for Google Sitemaps. That interface offers a number of links you can use to find information like this.

    link:www.yourdomain.com (Google & MSN backlinks)
    linkdomain:www.yourdomain.com (Yahoo backlinks)
site:www.yourdomain.com (Google, MSN and Yahoo's indexed pages of your site)

The inurl syntax will also show you you your indexed pages in google and yahoo.

Also, if you would like to learn more about the different Google syntax commands, there is a really good book by O'reilly. It is called Google Hacks (Second Edition), I've found it very useful for my day to day searches in addition to my SEO.
