I wanted to change the colors, width, borders etc of my google search elements on my site but i read on the TOS this: and on the FAQs this: and i am wondering... What if i DON'T change anything in the code provided but insert that code as is in a div or table or something that i can change it's properties using a css style?? Would that be against the TOS?
Not changing the code, but altering the appearance (within reason) with CSS should be within their ToS.
I think doing this is risky. Doing the same thing to adsense ads would get you banned. I recommend you go straight to google with this question.
The AdSense for search results page (in my opinion) is so boring looking. Google has got to give us more layout options (like in the free customizable search). Most sites use the same default color scheme and quite frankly....it sucks. Just my 2 cents.
After exchanging more than 10 e-mails they finally managed to find a section of ToS that covers that. Here is the reply: So i guess it is against the ToS to modify the search box I am thinking of adding the simple free google search on my site (hoping that layout change is allowed there).
i don't think you'd make any money from adsense search anyway... at least i don't know anyone who did/does the only usefull thing was that you can see what your visitors are searching for on your site, plus that didn't work too well all the time either, at least in my case, so i dropped it. i'm thinking of using free searchbox tool from this site, but i don't know if i can check later too see what the visitors were searching for. Anyone?
