Hiya, Im Looking to buy a hardrive, to run windows off.

A seagate one (i usually go for baracuttas)

Are Seagate Cheetahs any good? I heard they are fast, so will that make my applications run faster? are they faster compared to the normal seagate hardrives (to run windows off)

My specs:I have 4gb memory, windows xp, pentium 4)

Look you need to give us more detail if you want some good answers. At first glance I would recommend Seagate Cheetah over Seagate Barracuda hard drives. Compare the spindle speed for Barracuda at 7200 rpm to Cheetah at 15000 rpm. Also compare the interface for Barracuda at 3 GB per second to Cheetah at 6 GB per second. I know that depends on the type of controller you want to use, such as Serial Attached SCSI (called SAS) or Fibre Channel or SATA or something else. But it still looks like Cheetah is the superior product.

Check out seagate.com and look at their spec sheets for each hard drive you want to buy, and make an informed decision. My vote is for Cheetah.
