Seagate Announces the First SATA 6Gb/s 2TB Drive

    Seagate today announced t first 6Gb/s 7200rpm 2TB hard drive . The 2TB Barracuda XT contains a four platter design which includes 500GB in each and rotating at 7,200 RPM. Seagate Barracuda XT ensures a new 64MB cache scheme, five-year warranty and maximum sustained transfer rate of 138 mbps . The new hard disk units will be shipped from next week onwards for a price of 299 USD .

    I already have a 2TB Barracuda, just not this version, the one before it. I'm pretty happy with it as it fits all my storage needs.

    What the heck, that looks like an awesome piece of hardware. And to think that I don't even have half a terabyte. :eek:

    Introductory price is way up, but I assume this is gonna go down later. By then maybe a 4TB HDD is out. :D

    Seem a nice product from seagate. I m already using 160GB OneTouch4Mini, but now i need more storage for my movies. Nice product but with big prize tag....
