400$???? seems wayyyyy too expensive to me. Im sure there are cheaper alternatives out there, or check out lucene for a true search engine.
I have been looking at Extreme Corporate Search and have been bouncing emails back and forth and their product looks to be one of the better (if not the best meta search script) out there. I have purchased and tried many others without much luck, but this one looks pretty promising based on the flexibility including allowing the directory listings to appear in the meat search results.
