Seaarch Engine Submission question...

Discussion in 'Search Engine Optimization' started by ves, Apr 4, 2007.

I have a new website. It has 15 pages of content. I have just downloaded WebCEO to use for SE submission.

    My questions are:

Should I submit only the index page or all the pages (at a page a day as the WebCEO suggests) If not all pages, why not?

At what frequency should I repeat submit - and why do I have to repeat submit, don't they pick it up on crawls automatically? Should the repeat submissions be for all the pages again?

I've gotta admit, I'm a little lost on the rules of all this, and worried of spamming the engines by mistake/ignorance

    Thanks in advance.

Really?? So what's with all the search engine submission software/services around ... why would they bother? And why is it suggested to do it every month? Now I'm really confused

Believe ahkip's advice, you really do not need to, just purchased a couple of good links and the main SE's (G, Yahoo, MSN) will index your site, the rest will follow, there is software (somewhere) which does it for free, but meh.

    simple answer: to make money.

There are many people who are just now realizing what SEO can do for thier websites and they really don't know what to do. So there are companies out there that develop this "SEO" software to sell to those people.

There are some aspects of those programs that can help you out, but those can also be found online for free. They just bundle them all up and sell them.

The whole submit to search engines, and every month, is pointless. If it is on the internet, it will be found and indexed. There is no need to actively submit your site to them. And no, it won't make them index your site faster. The SEs will index it on their own time. For example, I just started my new website last month. I have nothing on it. Just a header image and the start of the left side navigation menu. That's it. And it is already indexed in Google. I have done nothing with it.

I would be wary of these types of software. You don't need them. Some tools help, but specific SEO software? No.

Okay Guys, thanks... now I get it. Well one good point is, I haven't paid anything out for the software (was free) and I haven't paid any company to do it for me. AND the great news is - it saves me yet another job doing it !
    :D :p :D

I used software like that before, maybe it helps getting indexed in the smaller meta search engines 0 people use.

Don't submit your site to search engine. Just wait for them to crawl your site. Put your links on your forums sig for fastest indexing and get more quality links. Create a site map of your site so that search engine can crawl your inner pages quickly.

as u told u have 15 pages of content means u have created 15 pages right?
and each pages have targeted keywords. do the following
    - submit each page for that targeted keywords.
    - and search engine submission will not help more.u should go for directory submission or try to purchase some trusted links for your targeted keywords.

i hope now it is clear. PM me if u find any difficulties i will try my best to help u.

As it was said you do not need to submit your site to search engines, it is kind of old school :D

But WebCEO is not only for submitting. There is really a great set of tools for SEO, all in one place. As you have downloaded it, just try other tools of it, I am sure you will find something helpful

Well, for example ranking check, backlinks check... there are a lot of nice features providing you with useful info

You really do not need to submit into search engines. Get your website's link on other websites and SEs will crawl and index your website.

You can very well submit inner pages but on some sites there are restrictions to submit only the home page.

When I read the topic, I thought I can answer it well. But seen lot many people already answered and they said it very correct.

As your site is new, I'll like to list few things to do for your site: (It may go bit out of topic, excuse me for that)

    (1) I am seeing you already made 9 posts. Make one more post and put your site link in sign.
    (2) Make more and more posts here and other forums. having link to your site in sign. It will help you get indexed very very fast. And in long term your threads will get some PR and you'll get a good back links.
    (3) Submit your site to around 500 good directories.
    (4) Read my article Link Building Tips and Resources and do some work following it.
    (5) I suggest buy 2-3 high PR links (PR6+) for starting.
    (6) Use WEB CEO for directory submissions.

    Good Luck :)

Get quality backlinks from directory. Search engines will crawl & index your site. Also do manual submissions.

Instead of submitting to search engines, submit it to directories manually. Get many quality backlinks as you can, exchange links with related sites, forum signatures and more....... Let search engines do their job to crawl and index your site...:D

I will suggest you to get some good backlinks and put site in your sig. instead of submitting in SE's. Submit your site manually in directories. SE's will crowl your site itself.
