[SE] Why you should consider no other designer but me.

Hey Scarlet, i did some work for you last month.
You are an awesome guy, really cool to work with.

But when it comes to designers, you always think ur on top of the hill.
I did a wordpress theme what did u said: "it has no character"
Well the buyer loved it, and people are asking me for designs
I might not be the greatest designer, My main field is coding.
But people are starting to like my designs, and i dont care if they have any
"character". Charging 150$ for a pink glossy design is too much, so yeah
you went to low on this. your a good desginer, but alot of stuff to learn in the
future. So don't be rude to people like that. In this forum there are great designer. Vortex Web Studios, did a work for a friend a while ago, and he said he is an awesome guy, if i ever need a design i'll contact him.
And just becuase people charge 5 bucks for a logo, doesnt mean u suck, i know tons of guys who do it, and they the best!

You should apologize to everyone. Specially the names you mentioned.
You didn't affect their reputation (made them famous, every1 is reading what u wrote), you affected YOUR reputation.

Btw, there is this think called spell check, where every1 can write/spell good. and lightbox its a simple ajax script every1 can install =)

 

On another note.....I am really looking for someone to design a real nice professional looking wesbite and code/slice it for me. Just 1 page (homepage). Paying $75. PM me if interested.

Alright Carlos, thankyou for your comment, on a seperate note I was a bit harsh on you, but that's who I am - either like it or row about it to your heart's content, you gain nothing. And I'm not like this because I want or like to be, it's who I have become to be - maybe you should understand me, then my concepts and opinions on things, instead of getting wet over the thread.

Honestly, I think you really should just quit trying to justify yourself as you're just digging yourself into a nice deep hole. You can have your opinion, but its obviously the opposite to quite a lot of the people on here.

You might think you have the right to voice your opinion, which is correct, but as the whole point of this thread was to advertise your services, arguing with other people is not going to do you any favours.

You don't have to accept what other people say, just stop arguing and let your designing talent shine through rather than the sparks this threads causing.

I'm really trying to be nice here and giving you some friendly advise, so please don't try to rip this to bits.

The price range is very low. Really i dont care i dont do this job for premiere income i do it for fun and to improve my knowledge on advertisment and design.

SE, what's the point of starting this fight? Everyone does it on their way, they leave you alone also.

 

so I was reading some of this and thought I'd put in my two cents since I've got nothing better to do at 2:30 am. I checked out your portfolio and it's a pretty decent portfolio. For something like your own site you got I could easily see you charging $100 for that. Even though designing has it's peaks, it's tiring and time consuming, and for all of those who say it isn't, well then you're not actually putting enough effort or detail into helping benefit your clients design. So I think it's reasonable for him to charge that much for quality work like his site, on the other hand I did look at the examples, and to be honest, they're not as professional or clean as the portfolio site you designed. Your examples matter as much as your portfolio site, as you either look like a noob who spent 100 hours perfecting his own site and selling others mid quality work, or it just looks like you got some designer who has his head on his shoulders to design a great piece of work like that. I'm on the picket fence on this one because I really don't know why designers take offense to this. Why should it matter if he/she criticizes your work? You're either good at designing or not, a thread wont change that..plus it's free advertising. Can you criticize me?

 

Alright, I have an idea.

How about we all just stop posting in this thread, or have a mod close it. Cause clearly this thread is not going anywhere and not going to improve. The immaturity of others is somthing we will all have to deal with, and somthing that will forever be here.

Last time I checked, I saw this was my thread, for potential clients and not hating designers like you. I also said 'i'm not perfect' and why should I focus more on my spelling and grammar against these worthless posts?

I never started a fight, a fight was started on my own opinion - that was never my intention. People always think they are right, so they will express until they see that their point is, hence some of these repeat designers posting back with worthless posts, like they have nothing better to do?

And why do I post back? It's because I have valid morals and will not let you think you are right as it were, when this thread was made and written by me. EVERYTHING else is an opinion after that.

That is an opinion aswell - you cannot look at my portfolio and speak for every client i've had or expect to have had. Also, that's another opinion on my portfolio - in actual fact, it only took me an hour to assemble that portfolio, as my previous design couldn't be coded to potential browser problems. And why should it matter if designers criticize my work? This hasn't been criticizm from the start. 'Your a disgrace, Scarlet Edition' is a personal attack on me.

Hah yes, refer to my starter post and see that oh, I was attack personally aswell. Maybe I should of starred out the names, but then you would of moaned about that either way, because as you said, it's 2:30AM and you have nothing better to do.

At the end of the day, the guy WAS banned; the other guy DIDN'T have a portfolio and the other guy MADE NO SENSE. Realise from my point of view, before you start making your own assumptions - there has been not a lie in this thread, except the ignorance that has occured from you.

Scarlet, I think your mistake here is putting a direct quote with the username and url of the other member with it.

If your purpose was get new business...how many people do think will give you new business as a result of this thread? Almost every post in "your" thread is negative towards you. No business owner is going to give you a thought to design their site.

If your intention was to drive potential future customers away...congratulations!
