Hoping this is the proper category to post this ... We are looking at using a search engine submission service for a few new sites and have come accross a service called 'SubmitFire' ... price seems right ... anyone use them before? Would be willing to spend $$$ on Overture & Adwords ... one better than the other? Suggestions and your thoughts greatly appreciated
Do you really need to submit any more? Get yourself a few "nice/visible links" on good sites - VOILA! If you still want to: some of the free services are pretty good IMO... submitplus addpro addme submitexpress Can't help re: AdWords/OVT - from what I read (and hear) however, make sure you REALLY know what you're doing or you'll burn thru your dough pretty quick. Google Information for Webmasters (submissions) http://www.google.com/webmasters/1.html "Google is a fully automated search engine, which employs robots known as 'spiders' to crawl the web on a monthly basis and find sites for inclusion in the Google index. Since this process does not involve human editors, it is NOT necessary to submit your site to Google in order to be included in our index. In fact, the vast majority of sites listed are not manually submitted for inclusion." "The best way to ensure Google finds your site is for your page to be linked from lots of pages on other sites. Google's robots jump from page to page on the Web via hyperlinks, so the more sites that link to you, the more likely it is that we'll find you quickly". Google Information for Webmasters http://www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html "Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our terms of service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Goldâ„¢ that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google." Cricket
Ain't that the truth Biggest money saver for me was these rules: 1) Never get in a bidding war. 2) Don't fight for top position. Position #3 and #4 are almost as good and much much cheaper.
Confirmed what I was thinking ... We currently are using AdWords and are considering OVT, was wondering if I should do anything else, but by sounds of it, all is fine. Thanks greatly!
