Sculpting pagerank with Google sitemaps and canonicals -- help!

    Hi all,

I have a site with about 200 pages, and each page is reachable from (almost) any other page, and most of the urls for the site have the same structure -- i.e. they're almost all at the same level of tree. If I want to be crawled as if my structure were deeper, is it necessary to change my url structure to reflect what I want? Or can I fake it with my sitemap?

    How would that work?

Could a clever use of forwarding URLs and canonical tags accomplish this?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

you need to change the structure of the site. Google crawls entire site, so will know the structure of the site. SO can't fool with Sitemap.

Uhu, you can't fool the robots with your sitemap.

What you can do is to add some nofollow tags
