Cant beleive how poor they have been, I have used places like rent a coder before and was great, however I had one project on scriptlance.

The coder firstly gave me copied website work, ie the graphics etc had been stolen from another website, I then told them not to continue as I dont need to be working with anyone like that. Anyway I never heard back from coder for a week.

So I opened the dispute up, and reason non communication for 3 days, and explained exactly what happened. The coder lied and said they have done work (beleive me not true)

Scriptlance didnt repond for a few weeks ! Nothing not one message, I complained, I got an apology, and then nothing again. 4 months have passed the dispute is still open, and nothing has progressed, they have failed to reply to any of my emails, so I just dont feel like I can do anything now.

Anyone else had a horrid experience with them, if it has been RAC, this dispute would have been sorted months ago. It just doesnt seem like they give a shi*t, the guys name is Sanjay.

It did cross my mind that perhaps because the coder is Indian and this guy is Sanjay, maybe they are just keeping money there and then give to fellow Indian coder, I have no idea.

I have horrid experience with coders. Most of the time there will be good communication and progress for the first two weeks, then I never hear from them again. The thing about it is that they start the work, but never complete it.

Yeah well to be honest with you, no disrespect to any people from India on the board, but I will never ever use a company from India for any website work, its so true, all they want is the money, and they will even lie there way to get it. Like you said it always starts out so promising, and then it all turns to sh*t.

IMO there overrated, its not the first time I have been let down before by a company from India.

My best experiences have been from people from Eastern Europe and USA. So just going to stick with the people that know best.

As for companies like Scriptlance, well I now know there practises, and there are a lot of negative things out there about them, so hopefully loads of people will wisen up soon and it will cripple there lousy fraudulent business.

LOL...I still owe $60 from sanjay (well, I'm an Indian too and that smashes your theory). I haven't visited SL since long.

They have really grown unprofessional, rude and money hungry...so I quit. Gang of louts now team up there and people get scammed. Now SL is not the same good old SL I began my online career with.

Scriptlance support usually doesnt respond and if they do it's 2-3 weeks later.

Not only from India but the majority of coders on Freelance site is not good for any kind of large project. Large project need constant tweaking and new features, most Freelancers will not stick around for that.

Totally agree. Everything I ever placed through scriptlance melted.
I tried in vain with the people who visited there.
The best figure I got per hour was $25 dollars for linkbuilding. The UK was cheaper!

Your best bet is to go to a real adult forums (iq69 is one of the best for info) and find a programmer that has worked on sites before.. You may pay a bit more, but you will get good work done by someone who has done that type of work before (and spending that extra few $$ is well worth not having to deal with the hassles that come with SL or Rentacoder etc..)
